Are you an owner of Perodua Axia, Bezza or Myvi? If the answer is yes, you’re having one of the top three best selling cars in Malaysia. As of July 2020, Perodua Malaysia has registered 23,203 vehicles, beating June as its best sales month so far this year by 9.2%. The year-to-date (YTD) sales for the first seven months affected by MCO is 97,373 units in total.
Rawang calculator estimates a 40% and 42% market share for Perodua’s July and YTD sales respectively.
The Myvi, Axia and Bezza, spearhead the dominance as Malaysia's top three best-selling YTD vehicles with 29,313, 28,107 and 25,416 units respectively.
According to Perodua president and CEO Datuk Zainal Abidin Ahmad, Myvi has been the best selling car since 2006 and the recent upgrade on the Advanced Safety Assist (ASA) 2.0 has made it a more affordable car with advanced safety features in Malaysia.
Perodua’s industry volume has rebounded speedily since the operations restarted after a two-month Movement Control Order (MCO) closure, aided by the government’s SST exemption which will run until the end of 2020.
He also further mentioned that the healthy volume will enable them to further bolster Malaysia’s automotive eco-system of suppliers and dealers in this time of need if the encouraging trend (SST exemption) continues.
