Datuk Seri Dr Shahidan Kassim, Federal Territories Minister, said the project, which began on July 10, 2017, was finished on May 11, 2022, involving the construction of a 2.8-kilometer elevated road with a 1.2-kilometer main route. He said that the RM492.5 million project also included the construction of 1.6km of exit and entry ramps, nine exit and entry points, and infrastructure such as new street lighting and retaining walls
The Ministry of Federal Territories, in collaboration with its agency, Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur , will remain dedicated to improving the traffic system, public transportation, and the development of traffic facilities for the benefit of the people, particularly the citizens.
This dedication is consistent with the Keluarga Malaysia government's objective of making Kuala Lumpur one of the top cities in terms of transportation network, as well as being able to satisfy the demands and ambitions of the people.
According to Shahidan, the flyover also links the Maju Expressway's exit and entry lanes, allowing motorists from Putrajaya and Puchong to enter Kuala Lumpur and giving them access to exit Jalan Bukit Bintang. Datuk Seri Dr Shahidan Kassim added that the project will eventually be linked to the Setiawangsa-Pantai Expressway.
