The first national car, Proton Saga is 35 years old this year and Proton has released the Proton Saga Anniversary Edition as part of the celebrations. Since 1985, Proton has sold 4,150,035 cars and the Proton Saga still remains their best seller with more than 1.8 million cars sold over the years.
There will be only 1,100 units available and it only costs you RM 39,300 (West Malaysia) or RM41,300 (East Malaysia), same as the current Proton Saga Premium AT after the SST exemption. Also, it comes with a 5-year warranty with 150,000km mileage and three times free labour service.
You can also add-on RM2,035 to get the 35th Anniversary Accessories package which includes front skirting, side skirtings, door visors, hood insulator, trunk lid cover and boot tray which originally priced at RM 2,350.
What’s different from the regular Saga?
To celebrate the 35th anniversary, the limited-edition Proton Saga comes with a special black-yellow exterior. It stands out with the exclusive Quartz Black paint by PPG, contrasted with yellow accents around the car on the rear bumper garnish, front upper grill garnish, and side mirrors. While in the wheels department, you get cool dark alloy rims instead of the ordinary silver rims.
In terms of the interior, all features remain the same. The only difference is the black-yellow colour tone. There are yellow highlights on the air-con vents as well as the centre panel. The instrument cluster also gets yellow rings for the speedometer and tachometer. Also, the N95 Cabin Filter will be included to filter out dust, smoke particles, bacteria, and other pollutants.
A further announcement to celebrate the anniversary was that the Proton’s N95 Cabin Filter, previously only available on the Proton X70 will be made available for Saga, Persona, Iriz and Exora models registered after 9 July 2020. Current owners will have the option to purchase the N95 Cabin Filter for RM59, excluding labour charges. You can enjoy a 15% discount on the price of the filter for a limited period until October 9, 2020.
