The great adventure truck is back with more aggressive looks. The 2020 Ford Ranger FX4 was launched online via both Facebook and Youtube. “Built for Life’s Adventure” is the new concept to highlight great experience for all outdoor activities lover out there.
The 2020 Ford Ranger FX4 returned with interesting additions and upgrades in design for both interior and exterior from the previous model. The new FX4 comes with blacked-out style, adds on the ebony black on the front grill, front and rear bumper. The wheels are now fitted with 18-inch double six-spoke, sportier style gloss black rims with 265/65 R18 tyres. There are also matching door handles, side mirror covers and rear sport bar, all in gloss black.
For the interior, the new 2020 FX4 seats are embossed with lettering FX4 logo and red stitching to match the noticeable handbrake handle, dashboard console, centre console, steering, door panels and gear knob cover. The FX4 logo also can found on the floor mats with red lettering. The new model is also upgraded to an 8-inch touch screen display system (previously 4.2 inch) with a reverse camera function - plus Bluetooth, USB and voice recognition capable function, it is Apple Car Play and Android Auto compatible.
The 2020 FX4 adds on safety features including rain-detector wipers, 4X4 Shift-On-The-Fly, Antilock Braking System (ABS) with Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) and Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), two airbags, Limited Slip Differential, Hill Descent Control, Hill Launch Assist ISOFIX child seat mounts, Electronic Stability Control with Traction Control, Rollover Mitigation, Trailer Sway Control, and Adaptive Load Control. It has now a maximum payload capability of up to 1,000 kg and towing capacity of up to 3,500 kg.
Under the hood, the new FX4 maintains the same 2.2 litre TDGi VGT turbodiesel engine as the 2017 FX4. Capable in delivering 160 PS @ 3200 rpm and peak torque of 385 Nm @ 1600 – 2600 rpm with producing 158 Hp. Transmission equips with six-speed automatic with a four-wheel drive system with on-the-fly shifting and an electronic-locking rear differential.
The 2020 Ford Ranger FX4 is tentatively priced at RM 126,888.00 on the road without insurance in colour choices of Meteor Grey, Absolute Black and Arctic White.
